Underlying Copyright Law

Independently of the DMCA and DSA notice procedures above, copyright in uploaded images remains with the original rights holder under applicable national copyright law (including the Berne Convention, to which the United States, European Union member states, and Japan are all parties). Wallpapers on Wallpapero are published under the license shown on each wallpaper's page; use outside that license requires the rights holder's permission.

Country-Specific Notes

Wallpapero is available in English, German, French, Spanish, and Japanese. The DMCA and DSA procedures above apply to all users regardless of language. The notes below reflect additional local context for these markets.

🇩🇪 Germany

The DSA applies directly as EU law. Germany's Digital Services Act (Digitale-Dienste-Gesetz, DDG) supplements the DSA and, together with the German Copyright Act (Urheberrechtsgesetz, UrhG), governs copyright claims and platform obligations for German users.

🇫🇷 France

The DSA applies directly as EU law. French copyright claims are additionally governed by the French Intellectual Property Code (Code de la propriété intellectuelle). The French "Loi pour la confiance dans l'économie numérique" (LCEN) remains relevant background law alongside the DSA.

🇪🇸 Spain

The DSA applies directly as EU law. Spanish copyright claims are additionally governed by the Spanish Copyright Act (Texto Refundido de la Ley de Propiedad Intelectual, TRLPI). Spain's "Ley de Servicios de la Sociedad de la Información" (LSSI) remains relevant background law alongside the DSA.

🇯🇵 Japan

Copyright claims from Japan are governed by the Japanese Copyright Act (著作権法) and the notice-and-takedown procedure under Japan's Provider Liability Limitation Act (プロバイダ責任制限法), now the Act on Measures against Information Distribution Platforms (情報流通プラットフォーム対処法). Under this framework, if we receive a valid infringement claim, the uploader may be given an opportunity (typically up to 7 days) to object before the content is removed.

How We Handle Information in Notices

Personal information you provide in a takedown notice, counter-notice, or complaint (such as your name and email address) is used only to process that report and communicate with you and, where required by law, the uploader. See our Privacy Policy for details.
